Prepped and ready for the week.  You know, it has to be super simple and yummy.  Cannot get simpler than this.  Went to my favorite local produce place – Nalls Produce (@nalls_produce)…nothing better than fresh.

Made a veggie salad inspired by my friend @kdiscigil and a salad she used to make for us on long weekends and when we were on a beautiful trip to Turkey…slightly modified. 🥒🍅🧅 Then a fresh fruit salad that is so delicious it can be a meal or dessert. 🍉🍇🍒🍋🍊

Remember friends, our health and well-being is more than food and exercise…its your spirit, heart and soul too.  I used be someone who was ” going” 24/7…working all the time and giving 110% to several things at the same time…someone once referred to me as a “machine.” Not a healthy way to live. 🙄 .

Now, I understand doing for me is not selfish, it’s smart.  Taking time away from work and projects make me better not lazy. Spending quiet time in gratitude and appreciating my surroundings is indeed nourishing. 😊

The Basics Veggie Salad: cucumber, tomatoes, zucchini, shallots, fresh basil, salt and pepper.  Dressing: olive oil, fresh juice of a large lemon, some lemon zest, salt, pepper, some red pepper flakes and a bit of turmeric.

The Basics Fruit Salad: watermelon, green grapes, peaches, blueberries, cantaloupe, red cherries and a few black raspberries.
